The Labirinto della Masone is at Strada Masone 121, Fontanellato, in the flat countryside about 20 km west of Parma. The official site puts it under 10 minutes by car from Fidenza and about 15 minutes from Parma. Parking is free.

Without a car, the realistic way is a train to Fidenza or Parma and a taxi. Below: driving directions, train times, the taxi number the Labirinto lists, what we could and could not confirm about buses, a day trip from Milan and one table to compare them all.

By car, with free parking; by train to Fidenza or Parma and then a taxi; or on a private guided day with pickup from Parma. There is no regular public bus to the gate.

Car: A1 exit Fidenza (from Milan) or Parma Ovest (from Bologna, or from La Spezia on the A15).
Train and taxi: Fidenza is the closer station; Parma has more trains.
Bus: only an uncertain local line to a nearby village, then a walk.
From Milan without a car: the Fidenza Village coach, then a pre-booked taxi.

How do you drive to the Labirinto della Masone?

Take the A1 motorway and leave at Fidenza if you come from Milan, or at Parma Ovest if you come from Bologna; the address is Strada Masone 121, Fontanellato. Parking is free and unguarded.

The official site says the drive takes under 10 minutes from Fidenza and about 15 minutes from Parma. From La Spezia, take the A15 and leave at Parma Ovest. A travel guide puts Milan about 1 hour 30 minutes away by car; traffic around Milan can add a lot, so check a live map. With a car it is easy to add Rocca Sanvitale in Fontanellato, about 5 km away, or Soragna and Busseto: see a day around Fontanellato.

Can you get to the Labirinto della Masone by train?

Yes, with a taxi for the last stretch: the nearest stations are Fidenza and Parma. Fidenza is closer, and Rome2rio puts the taxi from Fidenza at about 13 minutes.

On Trainline's figures, Parma to Fidenza takes about 26 minutes on average (10 minutes on the fastest trains, about 14 trains a day), and Milano Centrale to Fidenza takes 1 hour 37 minutes on average and 1 hour 2 minutes on the fastest trains, with about 18 trains a day. From Parma station you can also take a taxi all the way. Check Trenitalia for your date: timetables change.

Is there a taxi to the Labirinto?

Yes, by arrangement: the Labirinto's directions page lists a taxi on +39 347 3731302. Book the return trip too, as there is no taxi rank at the gate that we could confirm.

Fares are not published, so agree the price when you book. Time your return with the last entry in mind: the ticket desk closes at 17:30 in summer and 16:30 in winter, and the site closes at 19:00 and 18:00. If you are a group of four or more, compare the taxi cost with a private day that includes transport from Parma.

Is there a bus or shuttle to the Labirinto della Masone?

Not one we could confirm for 2026. Rome2rio lists TEP line 2205 from Fidenza (Foro Boario) to Sanguinaro, about 40 minutes, then a walk; a weekend shuttle from Fidenza station ran in spring 2023.

The 2023 shuttle ran at weekends from 22 April to 25 June, for EUR 7 return, according to ParmaToday; the official directions page does not mention a shuttle now. We could not verify the TEP timetable or whether the line still runs, so do not plan a day around it. Sanguinaro, the village the bus serves, is also where the curing-room tasting takes place.

Can you visit the Labirinto as a day trip from Milan?

Yes, by car, by train and taxi, or on Fidenza Village's Shopping Express coach plus a pre-booked taxi. The coach returns from the Village at 17:00, so time is tight.

The Shopping Express costs about $11 on GetYourGuide (rated 4.6 from 60 reviews), leaves from Piazza della Repubblica 5 in Milan in the morning, takes about an hour to the Village, and returns from the Village at 17:00, arriving in Milan around 19:00. The Labirinto is under 10 minutes by car from Fidenza, but you need a pre-booked taxi both ways and about two hours on site, so there is little time for shopping. The train gives you more freedom.

Is there a tour with transport from Parma?

Only one, and it is private: the castle and maze day ($223 per person) offers pickup from Parma, with a guide and both tickets. It is non-refundable and cannot be changed.

The day lasts about 7 hours: about 2 hours at Rocca Sanvitale in Fontanellato, then about 3 hours at the Labirinto and the collection. You can also meet the guide at the Rocca, Piazza Matteotti 1.
